David Seaman has hit back at Jamie Carragher’s claim that Declan Rice might consider leaving Arsenal if the club does not win a trophy next season.
The former Arsenal goalkeeper did not hold back as he dismissed the idea on his podcast, calling it premature and baseless.
Following Arsenal’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Liverpool last weekend, Carragher suggested that Rice could start thinking about an exit if the Gunners fall short again.

However, Seaman made it clear he disagrees.
Seaman Calls Carragher’s Comments Premature
Speaking on his podcast, Seaman said:
> “Wow. The season is not even over yet and he is already talking about someone leaving? I cannot believe Jamie said that.”
He continued:
> “I am actually excited for next season. Arsenal are improving, they are consistent contenders now.”
Declan Rice Is Not Going Anywhere, Says Seaman
Seaman also dismissed any fears of Declan Rice leaving, stressing that the midfielder is settled and committed to the club.
> “We faced PSG, a fantastic team, and Rice was solid. He is staying. There is no issue whatsoever.”
Rice’s Arsenal Journey So Far
Declan Rice joined Arsenal from West Ham United in 2023, choosing the Gunners over Manchester City.
Since arriving at the Emirates, the England midfielder has become a fan favourite and a cornerstone of Mikel Arteta’s squad.
