Selena Gomez Plans to Adopt if Still Single at 35, Reflects on Loneliness

American singer and actress Selena Gomez has shared that she plans to adopt children if she is still single at 35.

Now 31, Gomez said she developed this plan after spending five years single before starting a relationship with producer and songwriter Benny Blanco last year.

In a recent interview with Time Magazine, the former Disney star opened up about her struggles with loneliness and what helped her come to terms with being single.

“I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it,” she said. “A lot of people are afraid of being alone, and I probably tortured myself for about two years. Then I accepted it and decided that if I hadn’t met anyone by 35, I would adopt.”

Selena Gomez revealed that her relationship with Blanco began when she least expected it, confirming they started dating in December 2023.

Prior to dating Blanco, Gomez had a brief 10-month relationship with The Weeknd in 2017 and a tumultuous, years-long on-and-off relationship with Justin Bieber.
