The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday, concurred with the Federal House of Representatives as the bill proposing the establishment of the Federal College of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Tuomo, passed a third reading.
Daily Report Nigeria recalls that the bill sponsored by the lawmaker representing Burutu Federal Constituency, Julius Pondi was first passed by the House of Representatives on July 3, 2021.
Addressing newsmen after Tuesday’s plenary, Comr Victor Isereke, legislative aide to Pondi described the move as a big win for the people of Burutu Federal Constituency.

According to Isereke, the college will be the very first federal institution in our constituency when assented to by President Muhammadu Buhari, “against the countless crude oil deposits and oil installations in our constituency prominent amongst which include the SPDC Forcados terminal.”
He added that this is one amongst the many plans of his principal “to galvanize the support of his colleagues to ensure that the Burutu Federal Constituency gets its fair share in the distribution of the nation’s wealth.”
Isereke further enjoined the people of Burutu to “continue to support the lawmaker to succeed as there are more of such people-oriented bills and projects Pondi is working on towards realization.
Meanwhile, a bill seeking for the establishment of a Federal Institute of Diving Technology, Sokebolou, also sponsored by Julius Pondi, passed first reading at the House of Representative on March 22, 2022.
