FG Grants Ebiware Edmund, 158 Others Presidential Pardon

The Nigerian The Council of State has granted an accused mastermind of the Independence Day bombing in 2010, Edmund Ebiware presidential pardon.

Ebiware was granted clemency and pardon alongside 158 other accused person.

He was earlier sentenced to life imprisonment by a Federal Hugh Court with effect from October 3, 2010.

The Independent Day bomb blast occured near the Eagles Square, killing 12 persons and left several others injured.

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) was mostly blamed for the attack as it had issued a warning to the Nigerian government less than an hour before the blast.
