A former Edo North Senator, Francis Alimikhena, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) just days before the Edo state governorship election.
This surprise move has sent shockwaves through the political landscape, with many analysts seeing it as a significant boost to the APC’s chances in the upcoming election.
Alimikhena, who served two terms as a Senator under the APC, had dumped the party for PDP after losing the Edo North senatorial ticket to Senator Adams Oshiomhole at the primary election for the 2023 general election.
However, he has now made a U-turn, rejoining the APC in a move that has left many political observers stunned.
