Brahim Diaz seems to be adjusting well to his new surroundings. It can be seen in the recent match where he looked assuring to his teammates. Mike Maignan’s long pass was the foundation of their only goal for the game. Davide Calabria seized the long pass without letting it go to waste. Brahim Diaz’s low shot sealed the goal as Sampdoria keeper, Emil Audero, couldn’t stop it from entering the goalpost.

A remarkable start for  Milan

AC Milan’s first game for their Serie A campaign on Monday was quite an interesting way to start a season.  They opened with a  1-0 win at Sampdoria. Milan’s coach, Coach Stefano Pioli, started the game with some new signings, including Olivier Giroud.

The 34years old player, Giroud anticipated making opportunities for the Rossoneri. This expectation doesn’t exclude Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the club’s other aging star. Due to Swede’s recovery from knee surgery, he was absent from the game. Pioli hopes that France’s second-highest scorer of all time, Giroud, can make a tremendous impact as he did at Chelsea in the last season.

For the first time since 2013/14, Milan is back into the Champions League. The opening goal is a motivation that Pioli’s team might just need. The players weren’t the only new face on the field. The goal area had a new presence, Mike Maignan who was recruited from French champions Lille.

“Looking assured in his new surroundings it was Maignan’s long pass that set up the only goal of the game, Davide Calabria then providing the assist with Sampdoria keeper Emil Audero unable to cope with Brahim Diaz’s low shot.”

Last season, the Spanish midfielder, Diaz, joined the team on loan from Real Madrid. The loan has been extended for two extra years. Towards the end of the game, Piolo used one of his summer intake, Alessandro Florenzi, who completed his transfer from Roma at the weekend.

The Italian heavyweights qualified for the UEFA Champions League last season for the first time in over four years and will be hoping to kick start their season well so to mount an early title challenge.
