Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti has revealed that his late father, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, was almost overwhelmed by the stress of managing his numerous wives and concubines.

Besides the 27 wives Fela famously married on the same day, he also had over 100 concubines living with him at his Kalakuta commune.

Speaking on the ‘Bahd & Boujee’ podcast, Seun explained, “People only know of Fela’s 27 wives; they don’t know about his over 100 girlfriends that lived with us in the house. The wives and girlfriends almost killed Fela with stress.”
