Shakira Declares Beyoncé ‘the Queen’ of Pop, Praises Her Impact on Women of Color

Colombian singer Shakira has praised her American counterpart, Beyoncé, referring to her as “the queen” of pop. Shakira highlighted Beyoncé’s significant contributions to women of color in the US and worldwide, as well as to women in general.

Speaking on the latest episode of her show, Shakira Radio Station on Apple Music, the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ crooner expressed her admiration for Beyoncé’s impact and influence.

“She [Beyoncé’] is the queen. I mean, this is just so incredible, what she does for minorities in the US and around the world, what she’s done for women of color, what she’s done for women in general. The purpose that her life and her music has, it’s undeniable and it’s of a great magnitude,” she said.

Shakira and Beyoncé previously collaborated on the hit song ‘Beautiful Liar’ in 2006.
