Shedrack Agediga Foundation Holds Virtual Martin Luther King Jr Lecture Today

The Shedrack Agediga Foundation (SAF), a reputable Non Governmental Organization in the Niger Delta region will hold it’s first virtual conference today, January 18th, 2021.

The event which forms a part of major activities carried out by the Foundation yearly, is in honor and remembrance of foremost nonviolence hero, Dr Martin Luther King Jr.

According to the Director of Programs of SAF, Pst Seimode Idowu, this year’s event is totally unique in every sense, especially as it is a first virtual event by the foundation.

Pst Seimode explained that the event is taking a virtual course due to the outbreak of COVID-19, and the foundation deems it fit to uphold all recommended measures towards curtailing the further spread of the lethal virus.

The one-and-a-half hour event promises to be fascinating as a revered American Nonviolence veteran, Capt (Rtd) Charles Alphin, will be taking participants through Kingian values all the way from God’s Own Nation.

Capt Charles has a 40 years experience as a Kingian Nonviolence practitioner, and is certified as the best man to deliver the day’s lecture.

The event kicks off by 2:00pm West African Time, which is same as 8:00am across the Pacific.

Dr Martin Luther King Jr was an Afro-American who fought for the liberation of blacks in America without the use of force or violence.

Born Michael King Jr on January 15, 1929, King is best known for advancing civil rights through nonviolence and civil disobedience, inspired by his Christian beliefs and the nonviolent activism of Mahatma Gandhi.

He was the most visible spokesperson and leader in the civil rights movement from 1955 until his assassination in 1968 at a ripe age of 39.
