A former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani has said reform in the petroleum industry of Nigeria is critical for the survival of its economy.
Sani stated this while commending the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Mele Kyari, for the transitioning of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPC LTD to NNPC Limited.
On Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari unveiled NNPC limited in accordance with the Petroleum Industry Act(PIA).

According to the Act, NNPC Limited will run a commercial and profit-focused organisation under the Company and Allied Matters Act (CAMA).
Reacting vis a post on his Twitter page, Sani said: “Reform in the petroleum industry is critical to the economic survival and future of Nigeria. The rebirth of the state firm as a limited liability company is unprecedented, important and commendable.
“Kudos to the GMD and the Minister. Repositioning it to post-oil Nigeria is the next step.”
