Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima has arrived in New York to represent Nigeria at the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Daily Report Nigeria reports that Shettima’s arrival was confirmed on Monday by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications (Office of The Vice President).
His arrival at John F Kennedy International Airport earlier today was marked by a warm reception from a distinguished delegation.
Among those present to welcome him were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf M Tuggar; the Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, and Dr ‘Bosun Tijani.

He was also received by the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa.
Furthermore, the Vice President was also greeted by Nigerian diplomats, United Nations officials, and other dignitaries.
Acting on the directive of President Bola Tinubu, Shettima is set to lead Nigeria’s delegation at this year’s UNGA.
His agenda includes delivering Nigeria’s national statement and participating in a series of high-level meetings aimed at addressing global challenges.
The Vice President departed Nigeria on Sunday to reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to global cooperation and sustainable development.
