The Federal Government is set to convene a National Economic Council (NEC) Conference focused on strengthening economic coordination and promoting inclusive growth across Nigeria.
The conference, which will be chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima, is scheduled to hold at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

A statement issued on Sunday by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha, said the summit is being organised by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.

According to the statement, governors from the 36 states, key national stakeholders, development partners and private-sector leaders are expected to participate in the two-day event.
The conference is themed “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan.” It will deliberate on macroeconomic priorities, fiscal coordination, investment mobilisation and collaborative development strategies between the federal and state governments.
Speaking on the objectives of the summit, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and Secretary of the NEC, Dr Deborah Oko Odo, said the conference is designed to encourage economic growth and development nationwide while providing policy direction in line with the Federal Government’s long-term economic agenda.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to attend the conference as Special Guest of Honour, as part of ongoing reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The NEC Conference is expected to produce actionable strategies aimed at accelerating inclusive economic growth and sustainable development across the federation.
