Authorities in Lagos State have arrested six individuals for allegedly damaging a government barricade at the Obalende Roundabout, a major traffic junction in the city.
Those taken into custody include Matthew Yohana, 19; Jinadu Aliyu, 33; Yohanna Adamu, 29; Ayuba James, 25; Umoru John, 19; and Yakubu Ali, 25.

On Saturday, the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, addressed the arrests in a statement on X. He said, “All arrested individuals will be prosecuted in line with the relevant extant law of the state. We will not allow criminality or lawlessness to undermine public safety or the environment in Lagos State.”
The arrests follow a series of recent enforcement actions by the state government aimed at curbing vandalism and maintaining public order.
