Troops Recover Arms From IPOB, ESN Camp in Anambra

The Nigerian Army has disclosed that troops of 8 Division Garrison in Sokoto launched a carefully planned offensive operation against a notorious group of terrorists, killing many of them.

Brig Gen Onyema Nwachukwu, Director, Army Public Relations, made it known in a statement that the offensive was launched into Tukandu Village on Tuesday, targeting the terrorists responsible for various atrocious and heinous activities in the area.

Nwachukwu said the troops’ fierce fighting eliminated many of the terrorists, while others fled with gunshot wounds.

According to the statement, “In the following mop-up operations, troops recovered three AK-47 rifles, one PKT gun, 125 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, two rocket-propelled gun bombs and nine motorcycles.”
