Police operatives in Sokoto State have arrested two lovers in connection with the brutal killing of a young man, identified as Ali Salisu, in Gidan Kacha village, Gada Local Government Area.

The statement revealed that the tragic event occurred on October 4, 2025, when Rukayya invited Ali to meet her privately in the Dabagi bush. Unknown to him, she had arranged with Hamisu to ambush him. When the victim arrived, Hamisu strangled him with a rope and fled with his red Kasea motorcycle.
Further police investigation led to the arrest of two more suspects, Lawali Abdullahi and Ibrahim Abdullahi, who reportedly bought the stolen motorcycle in Sokoto without checking its ownership documents.
DSP Rufai confirmed that all four suspects are now in police custody and will soon face charges of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, armed robbery, and receiving stolen property.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Musa, commended the investigative team for their swift action, describing the case as “a reminder that no crime goes unpunished.” He also urged Nigerians to be more vigilant in their personal relationships and avoid meeting in isolated areas, especially at night.
“This case is both tragic and instructive. It shows how deceit and misplaced trust can destroy lives,” CP Musa said.

He further advised buyers and traders to verify ownership documents before purchasing valuable items such as motorcycles, cars, or electronics. “Receiving stolen property is a criminal offense, and ignorance will not serve as an excuse,” he added.
The Sokoto Police Command also encouraged residents to report suspicious activities in their communities, assuring them that all information provided would be handled confidentially.
