Veteran Nollywood actress Sola Sobowale has dismissed the rumors that she was arrested and sentenced to death for drug trafficking in Saudi Arabia.
While on the “Deep Dive” podcast with host Teju Babyface, the “King of Boys” star remembered how, after leaving Nigeria for the United Kingdom, false stories began circulating about her, including a particularly dramatic claim that she had been executed in the Middle East.
“They killed me in Saudi Arabia that I carried cocaine. They got me arrested and there, they amputated my leg, my hand, and I said to them that I’m a star in Nigeria. And because of that, I said they should kill me and they did,” she sarcastically recounted.

The 58-year-old actress stated that she clarified the truth once she returned to Nigeria, pointing out that she has never even visited Saudi Arabia.
Sola Sobowale mentioned that despite the absurd rumors, she feels that she has been blessed and compensated by God in other ways.
