Preliminary figures from various wards show APGA maintaining commanding leads over rival parties including the All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP), and People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
At Polling Unit 015, Ward 09, Nnokwa, Idemili South LGA, APGA secured 60 votes, followed by APC with 15, LP with 2, YPP with 2, and PDP with 1.
Similarly, at Uruagu Ward 1, Nnewi North LGA, APGA polled 69 votes, LP 21, and APC 14. Other early tallies include APGA 132, APC 39, and YPP 13 at PU010, Ward 2, Amawbia, Awka South LGA; and APGA 134, YPP 19, APC 5 at PU009, Ward 1, Igbo-Ukwu, Aguata LGA.
In a key development, Labour Party candidate, George Moghalu, lost his polling unit to APGA’s Soludo. Results from that unit showed APGA with 57 votes, LP 22, APC 5, and one invalid vote. Of the 463 registered voters, 86 were accredited.
Political observers say the early pattern underscores APGA’s enduring grassroots structure and Governor Soludo’s visibility across communities, though they caution that the final outcome will depend on the collation of results from all local government areas.
