The presidency has accused some Nigerian governors of deliberately attacking President Muhammadu Buhari in order to divert attention away from their employees’ monthly remuneration and pension.

Femi Adesina, President Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, made the accusations in a statement on Thursday in Abuja, saying the governors blame President Buhari for everything that goes wrong in their states.

According to him, some of the governors who are known for antagonizing Mr. President have not had a single kilometer of road built by their administration in their states.

Adesina believes that, despite their efforts to cover up their failures to pay salaries and build infrastructure, the people of their states still hold them accountable, emphasizing that the citizens understand where their problems are coming from.

“Some governors believe they can be heroes by antagonizing the president,” he said.

If they owe salaries and pensions, they begin to abuse the President as the month comes to an end, believing that their people will forget about the outstanding salaries and pensions.

It is Buhari who has not built a single kilometer of road. It is Buhari who is to blame when infrastructure deteriorates beneath them.

When they fail to protect the lives and property of the people they govern, it is Buhari’s fault.

They perform for the audience, expecting applause from their own people No, the only sound the people hear is the rumbling of their stomachs as a result of hunger. And they understand the source of their problems.”
