The Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum and Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has applauded the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its performance in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) area council elections.

The elections, conducted on Saturday across the six area councils of the nation’s capital, saw the ruling party secure a dominant showing.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Abeokuta, Abiodun said the party’s performance reflects broad acceptance of the APC by Nigerians. He described the outcome as a clear endorsement of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The governor congratulated President Tinubu, the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and the party’s candidates, noting that the result signals stronger prospects for the party ahead of the 2027 general election.

According to him, “No doubt, the outcome of the area council polls at the FCT has shown clearly that Nigerians are fully aligned with President Bola Tinubu and the APC, and will again demonstrate this during the 2027 general election.

“The vast majority of Nigerians know that with APC at the helm of affairs, Nigeria’s future is in safe hands.

“I congratulate President Bola Tinubu and the leadership of our great party, the APC, on this remarkable outing, which is a pointer to our victory in 2027.”

Abiodun maintained that the results reinforce confidence in the APC’s leadership and governance direction at the national level.
