The former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) noted that he remains actively involved in socio-political advocacy even outside election periods.

According to him, fixing Nigeria’s electricity crisis would be a central priority of his administration if elected president.

Sowore described reliable power supply as the foundation for industrial development, arguing that solving the country’s energy problems would trigger economic growth and help address insecurity.

“The whole idea of energy is what will bring about an industrial revolution in this country. If we get power right, we can tackle unemployment, boost GDP and address insecurity,” he said.

The activist-turned-politician also criticised the “Renewed Hope” agenda of the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the government’s policies have yet to deliver meaningful improvements in the lives of Nigerians.

Sowore argued that the country requires a new generation of leadership with the ideas and capacity to tackle Nigeria’s long-standing challenges.

He said his continued political involvement is aimed at providing Nigerians with an alternative option ahead of the 2027 elections.

Omoyele Sowore previously contested the presidency under the African Action Congress platform in both the 2019 Nigerian general election and the 2023 Nigerian general election.

His campaigns focused on anti-corruption, youth empowerment and institutional accountability.

Beyond electoral politics, Sowore remains active in civic mobilisation and democratic advocacy, often using public campaigns and social media platforms to highlight governance issues in Nigeria.
