Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has fired back at fans who pressured him to join the ongoing protest for the release of social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).
VDM was allegedly arrested last Friday by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), a development that sparked outrage among youths, many of whom have taken to the streets calling for his release.
During a recent live session on social media, Speed Darlington lost his cool after some followers urged him to show support by participating in the protests.

Clearly angered, the singer—renowned for his blunt persona—blasted the demands, stating that no one rallied behind him during his own legal struggles.
“How many of you protest, did you protest for me? God punish you! You come my page to disrespect me. Your mates are hustling, trying to make something of their lives…” he lashed out.
His outburst has drawn mixed reactions online, with some defending his position while others labeled him unsupportive of a fellow Nigerian facing injustice.
