SSG, Commissioner Test Positive For Coronavirus in Delta

The Secretary to the State Government of Delta state, Mr Chiedu Ebie and the Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu have both tested postivie for the dread novel coronavirus.

Their Covid-19 status was made public via a statement by Mr Olisa Ifeajika, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor on Sunday, in Asaba the Delta state capital.

Both officials have been at the forefront of the Coronavirus Task Force, fighting the lethal virus in the state as well as making available updates about the virus in the state.

The statement by Ifeajika stated that both Ebie and Charles showed mild symptoms of the virus and obliged to undergo the test which returned positive for Covid-19.

Both government officials who are are stable and responding to treatment have both been lodged in one of the isolation centres in the state.

Ifeajika concluded by tasking all residents of Delta state to be weary of the virus and adhere strictly to the recommended preventive measures as the virus can infect anyone, irrespective of status.

The Press Secretary further stated that Coronavirus is not a death sentence, and residents should quickly submit themselves for test when they feel unwell.
