Former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Mohammed Sanusi has urged Nigerians to desist from “cursing or abusing” their leaders over challenges facing the country.

The former Emir of Kano state, called on Nigerians to be patient and prayerful over the nation’s various challenges.

Sanusi made the appeal on Tuesday in Sokoto during an interaction with Tijjaniyya adherents from seven north-west states.

“In my own knowledge about economy, I know that we must suffer to get things right,”

“We shall not involve ourselves in corrupt practices and other atrocities because our religion preaches against it.
