All stranded Nigerians in Sudan alive – Minister
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Zubairu Dada has confirmed that all Nigerians in warring Sudan are alive.
He made the confirmation in a media briefing after the Federal Executive Council Meeting on Wednesday.
Dada stated that the Federal Government has put in place plans to evacuate over 5,000 Nigerian citizens from the country in batches.

The first batch of Nigerians was currently being conveyed via buses through Egypt and would be airlifted thereafter.
Diplomats, women, and children were being prioritized in the evacuation process.
According to him, the Federal Government was committed to ensuring the safety of all Nigerian citizens in Sudan.

The ongoing crisis has resulted in heavy fighting for eleven days, leading to the loss of hundreds of lives and the destruction of some neighborhoods in greater Khartoum.
The minister said that Nigerians in Sudan were advised to cooperate with government officials and security operatives to ensure a smooth evacuation process.
He added that the Federal Government remained optimistic that all Nigerian citizens would be safely evacuated from Sudan.
