A group of vandals have bitten more than they can chew, as they get electrocuted in Bayelsa.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the incident, which reportedly happened at Ogobiri community in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State saw the suspects face their karma after attempting to steal solar streetlights in the area.

 

Confirming the incident to PUNCH, a community resident notes that their bodies were dound in the scene around 11:00am.

Four streetlights poles were found ok the ground which had been loosened by the assailants, they were reportedly loosing the fifth one before they got electrocuted.

One lifeless body was found, while the other one was burnt beyond recognition.

They had already loosened five solar poles, and they were loosening the fifth pole when the pole fell on the nearby high-tension wires. Unfortunately, there was power and they got electrocuted,” the eyewitness said

The other body was taken away to the mortuary while the fallen streetlight poles were still lined up beside the road.

 

When being asked to confirm the incident, the Bayelsa atatw police spokesperson, Mr Musa Mohammed, said he was yet to receive the report.

“I have not received the report,” he said
