Some residents in Benin, Edo State have taken to the streets to protest against the Federal Government’s removal of fuel subsidy.

The protesters demanded an immediate reversal of the pump price to two hundred and ten naira (N210) until July 2023.

They also called for the repair and operation of the four Nigerian refineries to ensure petrol production for domestic consumption.

President Bola Tinubu recently declared that there would be no more subsidy on petrol, leading to long queues at filling stations across the country due to panic buying and hoarding by fuel dealers.

Recall that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) released a list of adjusted pump prices for its stations nationwide.
