The National Sports Commission (NSC) has confirmed that all Super Eagles financial entitlements for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations have been settled, easing fears of a possible boycott ahead of Nigeria’s crucial AFCON quarter-final against Algeria.

Dikko made the clarification after reports emerged that unpaid bonuses could disrupt preparations for Nigeria’s quarter-final tie at the AFCON 2025 tournament.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria, he revealed that President Bola Tinubu approved the entire AFCON budget on November 14, 2025, stressing that while approval and processing are different stages, the funding has now been cleared.

“From the NSC side, everything has been resolved. The Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Nigeria are already handling the payment process,” Dikko said.

He explained that extensive meetings were held with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and team leaders, including the captain, co-captain, and senior players, to agree on all bonuses up to the final.

“Everybody is clear. The players understood and accepted the bonus structure before the tournament started,” he added.

According to Dikko, only daily allowances were requested in cash, and those payments have already been settled.

“The only cash request was for daily allowances, and that has been sorted and made available,” he stated.

He further confirmed that match bonuses have been approved and are currently undergoing final processing.

“The bonuses have been approved. The process is ongoing and the money will come,” Dikko assured.

Nigeria remain unbeaten at the tournament, scoring 12 goals on their way to the last eight, and will face Algeria in Marrakech on Saturday for a place in the semi-finals.
