Super Eagles: I Want to Coach Nigeria Again – Augustine Eguavoen

Super Eagles: I Want to Coach Nigeria Again – Augustine Eguavoen | Daily Report Nigeria

Augustine Eguavoen, the Super Eagles’ former provisional head coach, has stated that he would like to manage the national team again despite Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Recall that Eguavoen quit after Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

After losing to Ghana’s Black Stars by an away goal last month, Nigeria was unable to qualify for this year’s World Cup.

At MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, the Nigerian and Ghanaian teams drew 1-1 in the second leg playoff.

The first leg in Kumasi ended in a 0-0 draw for both West African powers.

Speaking on Monday Night Football on SuperSports, Eguavoen stated that if called upon to coach the Super Eagles again, he will gladly accept the job.

He said:
“If there is still an opportunity for me, I will want to coach the Eagles again, but not at this moment, maybe later.

If I am called upon to lead the team again, I will definitely take up the job. I am still one of the good coaches in the country. I can still prove a point, it is just a matter of time.

No regrets taking up the job. When you are called to serve the nation, I could not refuse them.”
