The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to face off against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier scheduled for Friday, June 7.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the match will be held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

This upcoming game marks the first encounter between the two teams since their memorable clash at the semi-finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, which ended in a dramatic penalty shootout. The Super Eagles emerged victorious with a 4-2 win after the match ended 1-1 in both regulation and extra time.

Meanwhile, South Africa currently holds the second position in the group standings with three points from two games, while Rwanda surprisingly leads the group with four points from the same number of matches.
