Nigeria’s hopes of playing in the 2026 World Cup are in jeopardy after a 2-1 defeat to Benin Republic.

The Super Eagles, eager to recover from their 1-1 draw with South Africa last Friday, initially took the lead with a fantastic finish from Raphael Onyedika in the first half.

However, Finidi George’s Super Eagles found themselves trailing by halftime after goals from Benin’s Jodel Dossou and Steve Mounie.
