Suspect arrested in Nasarawa for mutilating six-year-old girl’s genitals | Daily Report Nigeria

The principal suspect, Abdulkadir Wada, 19, has been arrested over the case of a six-year-old girl whose genitals were mutilated for ritual purposes has been arrested.

He was arrested yesterday by the Police in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, where he fled to after allegedly committing the crime two weeks ago in Jama’are Council of Bauchi State.

Admitting to the crime, Wada recounted how he and one Adamu Abdulrauf, 20, committed the crime in an uncompleted building.

“I strangled her and took her into an uncompleted building. Later, my friend joined me after making sure that no one was watching. He told me to slit her throat, but I told him I couldn’t.

“He brought out his knife and after confirming that she was motionless, he cut off her genitals,” he said while being paraded.

Bauchi State Police Command spokesman, Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said the victim was rushed to Kano after rescue and receiving medical attention at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), while the ritualist who demanded for the genital is still at large.

AKTH Public Relations Officer, Hauwa Inuwa Dutse made it known that doctors were doing their best to get the victim back to her normal life

“We are taking care of her medically and monitoring to ensure that she is stable without other underlining medical ailments or issues that may include depression or infection.” Inuwa said

The suspects had cut off the girl’s private part after a “female native doctor” promised to pay them N500, 000.
