A notorious drug peddler with two other suspects were killed and many others were injured in a renewed cult clash between members of the Bobos and Iceland cult groups in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, on Monday.
The killings, which began in the early hours of Monday in the OMPADEC area of the state capital, were said to have spread to other parts of the Amarata suburb, sending residents fleeing for safety.
According to a local, the killing of a suspected drug peddler in the OMPADEC area around 3 a.m. by suspected Bobos cult members may have sparked the rage of the Icelander boys allegedly in control of the area.

The deceased suspected drug peddler, who some claim does not belong to either cult group, was said to have had a verbal altercation with some unknown people at a popular bar in the Amarata area during a birthday party.
He was followed to his house and shot twice before being slashed with a machete.
“Around 3 a.m., we heard two shots fired. “We also heard shouting,” a source said.
In retaliation, the Icelanders invaded the Bobos’ Ebis Mechanic base and shot dead a boy named Peter in broad daylight. They also took residents’ cellphones and other valuables at gunpoint.
