He said:

My team and I were attacked on Tuesday as we attempted to campaign at Iponri, Surulere. A member of my team was injured, but we are thankful the incident didn’t escalate past the level it was.”

Oworu assured concerned parties that the matter had already been reported at the police station in Iponri.

The 28-year-old politician however in a different tweet stated he remained undeterred by the incident and thus his campaign trail would make appearances in other neighbourhoods in the area.

He was elected as a lawmaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Surulere Constituency, in the 11 April 2015 Nigerian General Elections
