The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Bayelsa State, H E Timipre Sylva, CON has said he was dissatisfied with the Bayelsa Governorship Election Tribunal Judgment delivered on May 27 in favour of Governor Douye Diri.

The Tribunal dismissed the three grounds brought to the court saying that Sylva and the APC failed to prove their case thereby upholding Diri as winner of the state’s governorship election.

Following a meeting with stakeholders, elders, and members of the APC, Sylva instructed his legal team to proceed to the Court of Appeal to challenge the Tribunal’s decision.

In a statement, Sylva urged Bayelsans to remain positive, law-abiding, and steadfast, assuring them that “liberation is close and justice is inevitable.”

Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs to Sylva, Julius Bokoru issued the statement on May 27, 2024 shortly after the Tribunal’s declaration.
