Senator Aminu Tambuwal, a key figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration of directly orchestrating the destabilisation of opposition parties across Nigeria.

Speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme aired on Friday, the former Sokoto State Governor said the pattern of political disruption in multiple parties showed signs of state involvement.

Tambuwal stated:

> “We are all sensible and when you look at what is happening in various political parties in Nigeria today, you don’t need to be told the amount of denial that they, including Tinubu, are involved in destabilising efforts of opposition parties. I’m saying that they are involved in the destabilisation efforts.”

He noted that although he would honour a police invitation if summoned, law enforcement must exercise caution in political matters.

According to him, Nigeria’s democracy is being weakened under Tinubu’s leadership.

“I’m shocked that under Tinubu’s watch, Nigeria is being run the way it’s run today,” Tambuwal added, stressing that he was not disappointed because he had opposed Tinubu during the 2023 elections.
