Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Ltd, Chief Keston Pondi, has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to human development, stressing that education remains a critical tool for reducing recidivism and promoting peace in society.
He made the remarks on Tuesday during the inauguration of an eight-classroom block at the Medium Security Correctional Centre, Okere Road, Warri. The facility was built in partnership with the Delta State Government to improve inmate education and rehabilitation.

Speaking at the event, the Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof Nyerhovwo Tonukari, who represented Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, said the classrooms reflect the administration’s resolve to use education as a bridge between incarceration and

“By equipping inmates with knowledge and skills, we are not just giving them a second chance but also contributing to the growth and security of our state,” Prof Tonukari stated.
He commended Tantita Security Services for its corporate social responsibility initiative and described the project as a model for government-private sector collaboration.
According to him, the classrooms will provide a conducive learning environment for inmates to pursue both academic and vocational training, in line with Governor Oborevwori’s empowerment policy.
The inauguration emphasised the growing synergy between government and private stakeholders in Delta State, with both sides affirming that the facility will stand as a beacon of hope for inmates seeking a new beginning.
