The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a planned four-day electricity blackout affecting Lekki, Ikoyi, Jakande, and surrounding areas of Lagos State.
According to TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah, the outage will occur on October 11, 12, 18, and 19, 2025, and will last eight hours daily.

The preventive shutdown is intended to facilitate maintenance on the Ajah/Lekki 330 kV transmission line on October 11 and the Ajah/Alagbon 330 kV line on October 12, 18, and 19.
“The maintenance on the Ajah/Lekki 330kV line will enable TCN’s contractor to install a transformer protective system on the 300MVA 330/132/33kV power transformer at the Alagbon Transmission Substation,” Mbah explained.
The crew will also replace corroded insulators on critical towers of both transmission lines to ensure reliable electricity supply.
“Consequently, there will be an 8-hour outage from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM during the scheduled maintenance days. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause electricity customers in the affected areas,” the statement added.
This announcement follows a 25-day blackout in Lagos earlier in July 2025, reported by newsmen, affecting Eko and Ikeja electricity distribution zones.
Residents and businesses in Lekki, Ikoyi, Jakande, and nearby communities are advised to plan ahead to mitigate disruptions during the scheduled maintenance.
