AFN President Chief Tonobok Okowa thanked the National Sports Commission and current sponsors, then appealed for more funds to get the team fully ready.
He called on private and corporate partners to step up so athletes can train and travel without delay.
Top sprinters will lead the charge. Tobi Amusan and Sunday Okon will headline Nigeria’s bid as the team targets spots in the 100m, 200m and relay events.
With solid backing, the AFN believes Team Nigeria can qualify and compete well on the world stage.
Why this qualifier matters is that it gives athletes a direct path to Tokyo and tests Nigeria’s sprint depth against regional rivals.
