According to local sources, the terrorists launched separate attacks on the villages, unleashing terror on the residents.

Aminu Khalid, a local resident, told Punch in a telephone interview on Wednesday that the terrorists invaded Sabon Gida Libere, killing one person and abducting 23 others. In Ungwan Nabara, three people were killed in the brutal attack.

The communities have yet to establish contact with the terrorists, and many villages were now deserted due to the constant attacks.

It was said that the terrorists have established a camp in the nearby Agwala forest, on top of a hill, which has become a source of fear for the surrounding communities.

Khalid appealed to the government and military to take a decisive action to clear the bush and restore confidence in the area.

He said:
Most communities are deserted, and those in the surrounding villages cannot access their farmlands.

“The government and military must clear the bush where these terrorists are taking refuge to restore the confidence of the surrounding communities.”
