Nigerian actress Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has offered fans an inside look at her wedding festivities with singer Oluwatosin Ajibade, widely known as Mr Eazi.

The pair exchanged vows in a private white wedding held in Iceland this August, concluding a series of events that spanned across three different countries. Temi first announced their engagement in April 2022 through a video on Instagram, where she hinted at her preference for an intimate ceremony.

Now officially Temiloluwa Ajibade, she shared her joy on social media last Friday with the caption: “Mr and Mrs Ajibade. Now on voguemagazine.”

Their celebrations began on May 9 in Monaco, a date chosen in memory of Mr Eazi’s late mother’s birthday. Two months later, the Otedola residence in Dubai hosted a traditional Yoruba ceremony before the couple concluded their journey with the Iceland wedding.

Vogue Magazine covered the events extensively, publishing 99 photos and recounting how the couple’s romance started in January 2017 when Mr Eazi attended a London performance by Temi’s sister, Florence. Five years later, the proposal set the stage for their cross-border wedding story.

Speaking with The Office Magazine, Mr Eazi reflected on the cultural depth of the ceremonies. “We brought Nigeria to Dubai in Temi’s family home. All the food, the officiant (the Alaga), and the attire of staff, guests, and performers were traditional Yoruba. The band was the legendary King Sunny Ade, and all the food was Nigerian,” he explained.

He further noted, “Our outfits included Yoruba wedding attire, and we also wore Iseleuku attire to honor my late mother’s Ibo heritage. The event felt just like a wedding in Lagos.”

The singer revealed that the experience has even inspired his music. “I want to create more love songs, stripped-back acoustic tracks I can perform at future Nigerian weddings,” he said.

Recalling one particularly touching moment, Mr Eazi added, “It was surreal seeing Temi and I get married in Dubai with close friends and family present. I’ll never forget when she described me, calling all my names including the special one my mum loved. Also, just before she walked into the church, the organist played my mother’s favorite hymn. As she entered, the cloudy sky turned sunny—it was truly magical.”

The couple’s wedding journey not only celebrated their union but also showcased a fusion of Nigerian traditions with global sophistication, giving admirers a closer look at their love story.
