Tems Opens Up About Admiration for Kanye West

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, recently shared her admiration for American rapper Kanye West in an episode of the ‘Shopping The Sneakers’ podcast.

The ‘Mr Rebel’ singer expressed her fondness for Kanye, stating that she often finds herself relating to him. “I love Kanye [West]. I relate to him sometimes,” Tems said during the interview.

Tems also spoke about her friendship with American R&B singer Brent Faiyaz, describing him as a close friend and a strong supporter.

“Brent Faiyaz is my very good friend. I have known him since like 2021. He is a real one. He is always supportive. I have a couple of artists I’m close to, and he’s one of them,” she revealed.

In addition to her personal insights, Tems has made history by becoming the first female Nigerian artist to reach 1 billion solo streams on Spotify. This milestone comes on the heels of the release of her highly anticipated debut album, ‘Born In The Wild.’
