The Secretariat of the Action People’s Party (APP) in Rivers State, has been rocked by dynamite explosion.
The incident occured around 1 a.m on Monday morning at the APP rocked the secretariat situated along the GRA axis in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Suspected assailants were said to have thrown the dynamite into the building, inflicting extensive damage to windows, doors, and other property.
The blast has sparked speculation that State Governor Siminalayi Fubara might be contemplating an alignment with the APP.

This follows claims that his predecessor and former political mentor, Nyesom Wike, has taken control of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

According to The Punch, the explosion also resulted in considerable damage to the ceiling and fittings of the building.
Several APP officials gathered to discuss the incident, with one unnamed party member suggesting that the attack was politically motivated.
He stated, “Yes, I’m a member of the APP. I was informed of the attack at about 3 am today. This is politically-motivated and there is no two ways about it.
“They know that the APP is a fast-growing political party in the state. We call on the police to investigate this and arrest the culprits.”
