Terrorism: Buratai Vows to End Boko Haram, ISWAP in 2021 | Daily Report Nigeria

Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Leutenant-General Tukur Buratai, has declared the army will shame and disgrace dreaded terrorist groups, Boko Haram and Islamic States for West African Province (ISWAP) in 2021.

The army chief made the declaration while issuing a motivational speech at a sit-out dinner on the ever of New Year day.

The event took place at the TY Buratai Institute for War and Peace, in Buratai’s native of Biu Local Government Area, Borno state.

Buratai stated that his troops gave a lot to the fight against the insurgents in 2020. He stated he and his troops are committed to decisively dealing with all forms of insecurity in Nigeria.

The army chief charged troops to further commit themselves towards the eradication of terrorism in the new year by sustaining the tempo with which it dealth with insurgents in 2020.

He called for more determination and action to ending insurgency in the country.

“I am very optimistic that 2021 will be different, totally different with a remarkable difference from 2020.

“I want you to see it as a challenge and a task that must be done because we are the one that can do it because Nigerians believe in us and believe that we can do it.

“You should go into the year with full conviction that we can do better to address insecurity in our country,” he said.

While commenting president Muhammadu Buhari for the support and confidence on the army, Buratai revealed that officers and men of the Nigerian army will enjoy better welfare packages in the new year.
