Nigerian rapper Terry Tha Rapman has raised eyebrows by accusing Wizkid, the popular singer, of negatively impacting music genres with his recent comments.
Wizkid’s remarks, in which he distanced himself from being categorized solely within the Afrobeats genre, sparked controversy. This follows previous comments from Wizkid where he controversially declared that “rap is dead,” which Terry Tha Rapman referenced as an example of Wizkid’s influence.

Taking to X platform to express his views, Terry suggested that Wizkid’s statements have had detrimental effects on both rap and Afrobeats genres. He cautioned Highlife artists to be wary, insinuating that they could be Wizkid’s next target for criticism.

“First rap, now Afrobeats. How many genres Wizkid wan kill? Highlife, run o!”
