UK-based Nigerian pastor, Tobi Adegboyega, has reignited debate with bold statements about Christianity and Africa’s colonial past.
Adegboyega alleged that colonizers used Christianity to trick Africans into submission, citing passages like “sl+ves obey your masters” as examples. “The white man came to Africa… He told us he was selling to us a bigger religion,” he said.

The pastor also drew parallels between colonization and the transatlantic slave trade, saying, “They put our parents in a ship called Jesus and shipped them in chains.”
