Suspected hoodlums have attacked a Fulani settlement in Gaa Fulani, near Bankole in Oke-Ode, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, leaving three people dead and two others injured.
The violent incident, which reportedly occurred on Tuesday, was revealed by counter-insurgency expert and security analyst, Zagazola Makama, in a post on his X account on Thursday.
According to Makama, the attack is believed to be a reprisal following the killing of a Nupe man, Shabba Ndabata, at a nearby mining site earlier in the day.

Eyewitnesses told Makama that the assailants invaded the Fulani camp, firing shots indiscriminately and setting parts of the settlement ablaze. During the chaos, one victim, Gambo Abubakar, was allegedly burnt alive, while another, identified as Yabo, was fatally shot.
Two others—Abubakar Mohammad and Abubakar Tambaya—sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to Oke-Ode Maternity Hospital for medical treatment.
In response to the attack, community leaders held a peace meeting involving representatives of both the Fulani and Nupe communities in a bid to prevent further violence.
Makama added that efforts are currently underway to track down those responsible for the attack, while security operatives have increased surveillance in the area to maintain peace and prevent further unrest.
