The latest development emerged after Nigerian activist VeryDarkMan shared a video of a phone conversation he had with the TikToker.

In the recording, Mirabel acknowledged that the allegation was not true when asked directly.

“So in a nutshell, the story about the rape is not true?” VeryDarkMan asked.
“Yes sir,” she responded.

During the conversation, Mirabel disclosed that she had been dealing with serious mental health challenges, including panic attacks and emotional distress. She also admitted to consuming substances that may have affected her state of mind at the time of the allegation.

VeryDarkMan suggested that substance use could have contributed to confusion surrounding the incident, a point Mirabel agreed with after further explanation.

She also admitted that she created an alternate social media account to amplify the allegation herself, pleading for help during the call.

The TikToker further mentioned being involved in what she described as a toxic same-sex relationship, which she said added to her emotional strain.

Mirabel’s original allegation had prompted official responses from the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency and the Ogun State Police Command, both of which had confirmed that investigations were ongoing at the time.

As of Thursday, neither agency has issued a fresh statement following her admission.
