Tinubu Appoints 7 Individuals to Head Humanitarian Affairs Agencies

President Bola Tinubu has appointed seven individuals to lead key agencies and programs under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.

The appointments were made known in a statement on Tuesday by the President’s spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale.

Ngalale explained that the move will enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian and social development initiatives in Nigeria.

The appointed individuals include:

– Dr Badamasi Lawal, who will serve as the CEO of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA). Dr Lawal holds a doctorate degree in education and has previous experience as a commissioner in Katsina State.

– Funmilola Olotu, who has been appointed as the Program Manager of the National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office. Ms Olotu holds a master’s degree in business administration and currently serves as the senior special assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on state lotteries.

– Aishat Alubankudi, who will lead the Grant for Vulnerable Groups program as Program Manager. Ms Alubankudi holds a bachelor’s degree in community development and has experience as a risk assessor and financial manager.

– Aderemi Adebowale, who has been appointed as the Program Manager of the Home Grown School Feeding program. Ms Adebowale holds a doctorate degree and currently serves as the special adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on civic engagement. She has previous experience as a local government chairperson.

– Abdullahi Alhassan Imam, who will serve as the Program Manager of the National Cash Transfer Office. Mr Imam holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy and has experience as a chief accountant.

– Ayuba Gufwan, who has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for People with Disabilities. Mr Gufwan holds an LLB and currently serves as the executive director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre in Jos.

– Lami Binta Adamu Bello, who will lead the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons as Director-General. Ms Bello holds a master’s degree in public administration and has previous experience as the Secretary-General of ALGON, as well as permanent secretary in the federal ministries of health and women affairs and social development.

The statement further stated the President expected the appointees to carry out their duties with integrity and diligence, ensuring that vulnerable groups in Nigeria benefit directly from his administration’s reconfigured welfare programs.
