President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr Abdullahi Mustapha to serve as the Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN).
Mustapha’s appointment was announced in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

According to Ngelala, Tinubu assigned the new ECN chief executive to make a positive impact on his administration’s intent for the nation’s energy supply.
He stated the President planned to diversify the nation’s energy sources toward industrializing every part of the country.
Before now, Mustapha served for over a decade in the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
He has remarkable experience in the energy and space technology sectors.
