Tinubu Appoints Governing Council For Maritime University, Okerenkoko; 12 Others

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Governing Council for the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State.

The President on Wednesday approved the appointment of Temi Harriman – Chairman; Adeola Adeogun – Member; Benedict Aguele – Member; Freeman Kasa – Member; and Babangida Alhassan Abdullahi – Member.

Aside the Maritime University, President Tinubu also approved the appointment of governing councils for twelve other federal universities, colleges of education and other institutions.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement listed the affected schools as Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State; Nigerian University of Science and Technology, Abuja; Federal University of Agriculture, Bassam-Biri, Bayelsa; Federal University of Health Sciences, Kwale, Delta State; Federal University of Medical Sciences, Katsina State; Federal University Of Agriculture, Mubi, Adamawa State; Admiralty University, Ibusa, Delta State; The Nigeria French Language Village, Badagry, Lagos State; National Institute of Nigerians Languages, Aba, Abia State; Nigerian Army University, Biu, Borno State; Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Abeokuta, Ogun State; Nigeria Arabic Language Village, Gamboru Ngala, Borno State; Nigeria Arabic Language Village, Gamboru Ngala, Borno State and National Mathematical Centre, Sheda, Kwali, FCT.

The statement said, “the following Nigerians have been appointed by the President to the governing councils of these federal universities and tertiary institutions of learning:

Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State – Temi Harriman – Chairman; Adeola Adeogun – Member; Benedict Aguele – Member; Freeman Kasa – Member; Babangida Alhassan Abdullahi – Member.

“The President expects that the new members of the governing boards of these institutions will perform their functions effectively and creditably and within the ambits of their statutory responsibilities,” the statement said.
